B-SIDES (part ONE: 81/89)

1.Late Bar - 2.Fame - 3.Khanada - 4.Faster Than Light - 5.Like An Angel - 6.Careless Memories (live) - 7.Hold Back The Rain (remix) - 8.The Chauffeur (blue silver version) (a.k.a. acoustic demo) - 9.Faith Ih This Colour (original slow version) - 10.Faith Ih This Colour - 11.Secret Oktober - 12.Tiger Tiger (Ian Little remix) - 13.Cracks In The Pavement (live) - 14.We Need You - 15.Grey Lady And The Sea (Simon Le Bon) - 16.I Believe / All I Need To Know - 17.Interlude One (slowed down) - 18.This Is How A Road Gets Made - 19.Drug (original version) - 20.Burning The Ground
HIDDEN TRACK: 21.Good King Wenceslas

Audio Quality: EXCELLENT CD QUALITY
Notes: This is a russian bootleg, released by the "Whispering Darkness" website (not a cd-r), and it's of course an excellent collection of b-sides from 1981 to 1989. You will find here all the b-sides of the eighties, except of Make Me Smile ("The Reflex" b-side) and That Fatal Kiss (the orchestral version featured as b-side on the "A View To A Kill" 7").
Tracks #15 and #20 are not b-sides: Grey Lady and The Sea (#15) is a solo work of Simon Le Bon; the song appeared for the first time on the soundtrack of the "Drum: an extraordinary adventure" documentary. Burning The Ground (#20) is not actually a b-side; this was a single made for the promotional launch of the "Decade" album; it's a remixed medley of the greatest hits featured on the album. The b-side for the "Burning The Ground" single was Decadance, wich is not on this cd.
As bonus hidden track, you will find here a rare jingle sung by the fab five wishing a Merry Xmas on a Smash Hits radio broadcast back in 1984.
At the left side you can see two alternate covers for the same bootleg; the only difference in beetween the russian factory pressed bootleg and these two cdrs is on the Hidden Track: on the two cdrs the hidden track also includes an acoustic version of Dreamboy, performed live by Simon at the Cannes Film Festival 1998.

SECRET OKTOBER

1.To The Shore (slightly different) - 2.Late Bar - 3.Fame - 4.Khanada - 5.Faster Than Light - 6.Like An Angel - 7.Faith In This Colour - 8.Secret Oktober - 9.Grey Lady Of The Sea - 10.We Need You - 11.All I Need To Know - 12.Krush Brothers LSD Edit - 13.God (London) - 14.This Is How A Road Gets Made - 15.Follow In My Footsteps - 16.Burning The Ground - 17.Decadance - 18.Yo Bad Azizi

Audio Quality: EXCELLENT CD QUALITY
Notes: A collection of b-sides from 1981 to 1990. The tracklist is different from the previous cds, because there are no remixes or live versions (such as "Hold Back The Rain" remix, "The Chauffeur" (blue silver), "Careless Memories" (live) or "Cracks In The Pavement" (live). All the songs you have here are NON-ALBUM TRACKS, with the exception of To The Shore, which appeared on some early releases of the first album, and that is here in a (slightly) different version.
Grey Lady And The Sea (track #9) and Follow In My Footsteps (track #15) are Simon's solo songs: see above for the first one; the second one is taken off the "Requiem For The Americas" album. The song was also released in Italy as a (very rare!) 7" vinyl single.
Track #18, Decadance, was the "Burning The Ground" b-side. And Yo Bad Azizi (track #18) was released as a "Serious" b-side; unfortunately, this collection does not contain the other two "Liberty" album b-sides: Throb(a different and instrumental version of "My Antarctica", released as b-side on some "Violence Of Summer" singles); and the second b-side of "Serious", named Waterbabies. This was a dance version of "All Along The Water".

The B-SIDES & BEYOND (81/97)

CD1: 1.Late Bar - 2.Stop Dead - 3.Follow In My Footsteps - 4.Gray Lady Of The Sea - 5.Fallen Angel - 6.Like An Angel - 7.Diamond Dogs - 8.To The Shore - 9.Khanada - 10.Fame - 11.Faster Than Light - 12.Faith In This Colour - 13.Secret Oktober - 14.Come Up And See Me (Make Me Smile) - 15.We Need You - 16.Burning The Ground - 17.Linger (Simon + Dolores O'Riodan live)
CD2: 1.Dream Boy (Live) - 2.Bomb - 3.Needle And The Damage Done - 4.Drug (new mix) - 5.Love Is Like Oxygen (Roger Taylor) - 6.Cracks In The Pavement (live) - 7.Tiger Tiger - 8.Tel Aviv - 9.Save A Prayer - 10.New Religion (remix) - 11.Electric Barbarella (Tee's Club Mix) - 12.Out Of My Mind (Electric Remix) - 13.Violence Of Summer (Story Mix) - 14.Seven And The Ragged Tiger - 15.Ball And Chain - 16.I Believe/All I Need To Know - 17.God

Audio Quality: EXCELLENT CD QUALITY
Notes: Uhm... It's very hard to re-order my ideas about this double cd compilation. I can try following a chronological line:

From DURAN DURAN (1981) to ARENA (1984): all the NON-ALBUM b-sides are there, plus the different version of To The Shore, released as "Careless Memories" UK 7" in 1981, and the live version of Cracks In The Pavement, wich was the "Wild Boys" b-side. The rare demo of Seven & The Ragged Tiger (sung by Andy) is also on this great compilation.

From the A VIEW TO A KILL (1985) single: no That Fatal Kiss here

From NOTORIOUS (1986) to BIG THING (1988): the "Notorious" and "Meet El Presidente" had both an album version as b-side ("Winter Marches On" for "Notorious", "Vertigo" for "Meet El Presidente"). So, the only non album b-side of that era is We Need You, that is featured on the Disc 1 (track #15).
About the Big Thing days, you will find here the b-side of "All She Wants Is", I Believe/All I Need To Know (Disc2, track #16), and God, released as one of the "Do You Believe In Shame?" b-sides. This compilation also contains a new version of Drug (the one added on the 1997 Disky Netherlands reissue of the Big Thing album), and the vocal version of an unreleased Big Thing song, Bomb.

Burning The Ground (1989) (Disc1, track #16) is here, but unfortunately the compilation lacks of its b-side, Decadance.

The LIBERTY (1990) days: you will find here just a very different version of "Violence Of Summer", released as b-side of the 7" and 12". The real b-sides of the 1990 (Throb - Waterbabies - Yo Bad Azizi) aren't here.

From THE WEDDING ALBUM (1993) to MEDAZZALAND (1997): "Fallen Angel" and "Stop Dead" are taken off the 1994 special edition of the Wedding Album; the third new track was Time For Temptation, that is not on this cd.
Needle And The Damage Done (a Neil Young cover) and the Bowie hit Diamond Dogs are both "Thank You" b-sides; Diamond Dogs is on the Japanese version of the album and on the italian "Lay Lady Lay" cd single.
Some "Medazzaland" songs (Electric Barbarella - Out Of My Mind - Ball And Chain), many remixed versions of old tracks and some solo project (such as the Freebass song Love Is Like Oxygen and four Simon Le Bon tracks Dreamboy - Follow In My Footsteps - Grey Lady And The Sea - Linger) complete the compilation.

B-SIDES (part TWO: 89/2000)

1.The LSD Edit - 2.Decadance - 3.Throb - 4.Yo Bad Azizi - 5.Waterbabies - 6.Stop Dead - 7.Time For Temptation - 8.Falling Angel - 9.Ordinary World (acoustic live at Simon Mayo Show) - 10.Diamond Dogs - 11.Needle and The Damage Done - 12.Sinner Or Saint - 13.Ball And Chain - 14.Starting To Remember (acoustic bonus track on the World Music Stores Pop Trash edition) - 15.God (London) - 16.Follow in my Footsteps - 17.To The Shore - 18.Say The Word (album version)
