GEMINI
1993, February 12th, Academy Theatre, New York NY, USA

1.Planet Earth - 2.Hungry Like The Wolf - 3.Ordinary World - 4.Come Undone - 5.The Chauffeur - 6.Crystal Ship - 7.Notorious - 8.Too Much Information - 9.Save A Prayer - 10.Success - 11.Rio

Audio Quality: EXCELLENT SOUNDBOARD (sb10)
Notes: On December 12th, the guys played two shows at the Academy Theatre. The "Gemini" bootleg was released in Italy by the "Red Phantom" label, and contains the latter. That night the guys played the first live performance of "Crystal Ship", which at the time hadn't yet been recorded and released by them. Two years later, they recorded a great version of this song for the "Thank You" album. The tracklist is complete, since the "An Acoustic Evening With Duran Duran" shows were brief, just lasting the time of 10 or 12 songs. The setlist became longer during the tour. The audio quality is excellent.

AN ACOUSTIC SET IN ROME
1993, February 20th, Palladium, Rome, Italy

1.Planet Earth - 2.Hungry Like The Wolf - 3.Ordinary World - 4.Come Undone - 5.The Chauffeur - 6.Crystal Ship - 7.UMF - 8.Notorious - 9.Too Much Information - 10.Save A Prayer - 11.Success - 12.Rio

Audio Quality: FAIR AUDIENCE (au7)
Notes: This is the very first european show of the "An Acoustic Evening With Duran Duran". I was there, getting my chance to hear the FIRST EVER live performance of UMF! I read somewhere, in many collector's lists, that the Rome 93 recording that is circulating is not completely the real show, because the tracks from "Notorious" to the last song, "Rio", are fake. Actually, I did recorded MY OWN copy from the private video recording of the concert; so, this is the REAL FULL SHOW, in a slightly better audio quality than the most known copy. So, if you want a Rome 93 cd, you should get mine. Ok? ;-)

ITALIAN ACOUSTIC
1993, February 21st, Rolling Stone, Milano, Italy

1.Planet Earth - 2.Hungry Like The Wolf - 3.Ordinary World - 4.Come Undone - 5.The Chauffeur - 6.Crystal Ship - 7.UMF - 8.Notorious - 9.Too Much Information - 10.Save A Prayer - 11.Success - 12.Rio

Audio Quality: EXCELLENT AUDIENCE (au10) or GOOD SOUNDBOARD (sb8)
Notes: This is the second and last Italian show of the "An Acoustic Evening With Duran Duran" tour. The show was partially aired on TV (VideoMusic); furthermore, in the afternoon the guys appeared on the TV show "Buona Domenica", playing "Come Undone" and "Ordinary World" (both the live show broadcast and the TV performance are also available on video). The bootleg includes the full live show, comprehensive of one of the oldest performances of "UMF". I can't say if this is an audience or a soundboard recording, anyway it's a good recording!

PARIS 93
1993, March 14th, La Cigale, Paris, France

CD1: 1.Planet Earth - 2.Hungry Like The Wolf - 3.Ordinary World - 4.Come Undone - 5.The Chauffeur - 6.Crystal Ship - 7.UMF - 8.Notorious
CD2: 1.Too Much Information - 2.Save A Prayer - 3.Success - 4.Rio

Audio Quality: EXCELLENT AUDIENCE (au10)
Notes: This is one of my favourite acoustic shows. A great performance and a very good audio quality make this double CD a worth having bootleg for all Duran Duran collectors. The peculiarity of this CD is that Lamya's backing vocals are great and audible, so you can easily hear these parts of the songs, which normally are hidden by the other instruments.

SOUTH AFRICA 93
1993, April 24th, Monumentum Arena, Pretoria, South Africa

CD1: 1.Planet Earth - 2.Hungry Like The Wolf - 3.Ordinary World - 4.Come Undone - 5.The Chauffeur - 6.Crystal Ship - 7.Girls On Film - 8.UMF - 9.Notorious
CD2: 1.Too Much Information - 2.Save A Prayer - 3.Success - 4.The Wild Boys - 5.Rio

Audio Quality: EXCELLENT SOUNDBOARD (sb10)
Notes: Duran Duran in South Africa! Wow! This show was broadcasted in TV (the video version is also available), and this cd is great! Apart of his historical value, you need this recording in your collection because of its excellent audio quality and its very good performance. Tonight, the guys performed for the first time during this tour, their hit "The Wild Boys"; I hope you already had the chance to listen to the acoustic version of that song. Well, I think that the Pretoria performance is the more emotional version of the acoustic "The Wild Boys" that I've heard. "Save A Prayer" also is great; "Come Undone" and "Girls On Film" are excellent.

BUENOS AIRES 93 (Fiesta!)
1993, April 30th, Velez Stadium, Buenos Aires, Argentina

1.Breat After Breath (with Milton Nascimento) - 2.Planet Earth - 3.Hungry Like The Wolf - 4.Ordinary World - 5.Come Undone - 6.Crystal Ship - 7.Girls On Film - 8.Notorious - 9.Too Much Information - 10.Save A Prayer - 11.The Wild Boys - 12.Rio

Audio Quality: EXCELLENT SOUNDBOARD (sb10)
Notes: The Buenos Aires 93 show was aired on TV. Many excellent bootlegs originated from its soundtrack, like "Fiesta Latina" (Italy, "Live Storm" label), "In Concert" (Italy, "All Of Us" label), or "Fiesta!", which is my copy. They all are identical. The show starts with "Breath After Breath" but this unique performance is not live, since they only performed that song on stage for the making of the video clip. At the end of this song, you can hear some (real) live drums, then the real concert starts with "Planet Earth". The performance is great and I especially like "Save A Prayer", with its instrumental ending part. Before the acoustic (and very different) performance of "The Wild Boys", Simon thanks God for stopping the rain. "Come Undone" is longer than the February shows version. If you are looking for your first acoustic bootleg, you should get a Buenos Aires CD.

URUGUAY 93
1993, May 07th, Montevideo, Uruguay

1.Hungry Like The Wolf - 2.Ordinary World - 3.Come Undone - 4.The Chauffeur - 5.Crystal Ship - 6.Girls On Film - 7.UMF - 8.Notorious - 9.Too Much Information - 10.Save A Prayer - 11.Success Intro - 12.Success - 13.The Wild Boys - 14.Rio

Audio Quality: VERY GOOD SOUNDBOARD (sb9)
Notes: A good cd; the audio quality could be a perfect soundboard, but somewhere during the show you can hear some radio static noise... what a shame! Another little problem of this cd is that the first song of the show ("Planet Earth") is missing, and "Hungry Like The Wolf" starts already in progress... The highlight of this cd is the "Success" intro (track 11). This is a very funny jam session with the band reworking and remodeling "Too Much Information" and Simon singing with the crowd! Very funky and very funny! The show is also available on video.

CHILE 93
1993, May 09th, Santiago, Chile

1.Planet Earth - 2.Hungry Like The Wolf - 3.Ordinary World - 4.Come Undone - 5.The Chauffeur - 6.Crystal Ship - 7.Girls On Film - 8.UMF - 9.Notorious - 10.Too Much Information - 11.Save A Prayer - 12.Success - 13.The Wild Boys - 14.Rio

Audio Quality: VERY GOOD SOUNDBOARD (sb9/10)
Notes: This is the radio broadcast recording of the full Santiago 93 show (also available on video). Some good reasons to love this cd: complete setlist, a great audio quality, a powerful performance, especially of "Planet Earth", "Come Undone" and "Success". "The Wild Boys" is the acoustic short version, very sweet tonight, with a slightly different Warren guitar intro.

HOLLYWOOD 93 - Satellite Broadcast
1993, May 15th, Tower Records, Hollywood CA, USA

1.Planet Earth - 2.Hungry Like The Wolf - 3.Ordinary World - 4.Come Undone - 5.The Chauffeur - 6.Girls On Film - 7.Notorious - 8.Too Much Information - 9.Save A Prayer - 10.Rio
BONUS TRACKS from Hollywood 89: 11.A View To A Kill - 12.The Wild Boys

Audio Quality: EXCELLENT SOUNDBOARD (sb10)
Notes: This Hollywood concert was aired worldwide via satellite, so this is the most famous show of the 93 tour. There are many bootlegs taken off this performance floating around, and I decided to list just two of them here: "Hollywood 93" and "Return Return". The "Hollywood 93" CD includes the whole show. That night, no covers ("Crystal Ship" or "Success") were in the setlist. "Girls On Film" and "Come Undone" became longer and longer during the tour, with the addition of the beautiful Lamya's vocals. As Bonus Tracks, you will find two excellent "Electric Theatre 89" songs, that are very bass friendly and energetic. This is my favourite CD among the Hollywood 93 recordings.

RETURN RETURN

1993, May 15th, Tower Records, Hollywood CA, USA 1.Hungry Like The Wolf - 2.Ordinary World - 3.Come Undone - 4.Girls On Film - 5.Notorious - 6.Too Much Information - 7.Rio
1993, April 30th, Velez Stadium, Buenos Aires, Argentina 8.Planet Earth - 9.Hungry Like The Wolf - 10.Ordinary World - 11.Crystal Ship - 12.Save A Prayer - 13.Wild Boys - 14.Rio

Audio Quality: EXCELLENT SOUNDBOARD (sb10)
Notes: This is another Hollywood 93 bootleg I've got. Actually, this is a compilation bootleg, and that's the reason why I have listed it here. The setlist of the Hollywood show is not complete, but the second part of the CD contains seven songs off the Buenos Aires show. So, if you are new to Duran Duran boots, you have the chance to get most of the songs from two different shows in only one CD. Apart from the incomplete setlists, there are no more differences between this CD and the Hollywood and Buenos Aires boots, so you can read their reviews to get more infos.

KOLN 93 WDR TOTAL
1993, June 16th, Music Hall, Koln, Germany

CD1: 1.Planet Earth - 2.Hungry Like The Wolf - 3.Ordinary World - 4.Come Undone - 5.The Chauffeur - 6.Crystal Ship - 7.Girls On Film - 8.UMF - 9.Notorious - 10.Too Much Information - 11.Save A Prayer
CD2: 1.Ordinary World (second take) - 2.The Wild Boys - 3.Rio

Audio Quality: EXCELLENT SOUNDBOARD (sb10)
Notes: This show was broadcasted on the german TV and, later, via satellite (the video recording is also available in very good quality); the setlist is complete, and the performance is good; you can hear it listening to "UMF" or "Too Much Information", but... the most important moment on this bootleg is the inclusion of both the "Ordinary World" performances: Simon said that the first performance wasn't so good, so the guys played a second "Ordinary World" instead of "Success". Ok... the second performance is actually better than the first ;-)
